A female pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after Barrie police said she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Sunnidale Road and Wellington Street West.

Officers were alerted to the collision around 9 p.m. on Wednesday and arrived within five minutes, where they found lying in the intersection. The driver remained at the scene.

As officers spoke with the driver, police said he was unable to provide valid documentation, and saw him moving items around in the centre console and the front passenger seat area.
