News release - the City of Barrie
The City of Barrie is working with Oraclepoll Research to conduct a statistically valid phone survey of residents to gather feedback on key questions related to the 2024 Business Plan & Budget.
The phone survey will start this week and include 1,000 Barrie residents from all 10 Wards (both cellular and landlines). The survey will take an estimated 5 – 7 minutes to complete and if residents receive a call, they are encouraged to take the time to provide feedback. Results will be shared with Council as part of the 2024 Business Plan & Budget deliberations. All individual responses will be kept confidential, and respondents won’t be asked to give any personal information including payment or banking information.
In addition to the phone survey, residents can share their priorities through the City’s 2024 Budget online surveys, which opened on September 25. The online surveys ask residents to provide feedback on major services included in the City’s annual operating budget and the Service Partner budgets. Feedback provided through the online surveys must be received by Friday, October 20 to be shared with City Council during the 2024 Business Plan and Budget deliberations.
Subject to Council's discussions, the City Services portion of the 2024 Business Plan & Budget is scheduled to be approved on December 6, 2023. Service Partner 2024 budgets are scheduled to be approved February 14, 2024.
