Barrie Police charge man following stabbing

A man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a reported stabbing in Barrie.

Police say officers responded to the area of Mulcaster Street and Codrington Street around 3:30 Sunday morning.

A suspected was identified, but had fled the scene, and was arrested just before 7 a.m. Monday.

A 31-year-old Barrie man has been charged with assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

"The incident appears to be isolated and does not appear to be connected to any other investigation," police said in an email to Barrie 360.
