34-year-old Barrie man faces child porn charges after yearlong investigation

Barrie police say a 34-year-old Barrie man is facing child pornography charges following a yearlong investigation.

According to police, the accused used social media (Snapchat) and other forms of communication to access and share images and videos of child pornography.

Officers say the man was arrested by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

His charges include accessing child pornography, possession of child pornography, and making child pornography available.

He was held for bail and released the same day with several conditions, and a future court date.
