Barrie police seek cyclist who allegedly assaulted a woman

The suspect was riding a black mountain bike that may have a red stripe on the front

Police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman in Barrie on Tuesday.

Communications spokesperson Peter Leon says the incident happened on Heather Street just west of Bayfield Street between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Both individuals were riding bicycles at the time.

Leon says there was a brief encounter between the pair and the woman was able to break free.

Physically, the woman was not seriously injured.

The suspect was riding a black mountain bike that may have a red stripe on the front.

He is described as having a tanned complexion, brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing light coloured jeans, a black t-shirt and running shoes.
