Barrie police trying to identify driver who attempted to chat up teen walking home

Barrie police are trying to identify the driver of a white 4-door Honda who they say tried to engage in a conversation with a girl in her mid-teens as she was walking home on Tuesday morning.

Police say this happened between 8:45 and 9:15 in the area of Carol Road and Little Avenue.

The girl ran away and called a family member on her cell phone.

Investigators add the car had a blue-tinted licence plate.

The driver is described as male, large build, facial hair and with a dark complexion.
