Two men face drug charges after they were arrested by the Barrie Police tactical unit following a lengthy investigation.
Police say several search warrants were executed in the southeast part of the city on Tuesday, and the 23 and 31-year-old suspects were arrested at two different locations.
Investigators say the accused are facing charges related to cocaine and fentanyl possession and trafficking.
They have bail hearings on Wednesday.
"These types of investigations are complex and often require specialized resources and techniques to take those responsible into custody and held accountable for their actions. Planning, preparation and a measured police response are paramount to ensuring public safety and these factors were incorporated in both of yesterday’s arrests," police said in a news release.
Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further details are available at this time.
