Barrie police seize thousands of dollars in drugs, loaded firearm

Barrie police say they have seized an estimated $350,000 in drugs as part of a two-month investigation.

On Tuesday, the police drug enforcement unit and tactical support unit executed search warrants at a residence and took a 25-year-old Barrie man into custody.

The suspect is up on 15 drug-related charges as well as several firearm offences.

In a news release on Thursday, police provided a list of what officers seized:

  • Fentanyl: 687 grams
  • MDMA (Ecstasy): 182 grams
  • MDMA Pills: 684 pills
  • Crystal Methamphetamine: 1375 grams
  • Psilocybin: 80 grams
  • Methamphetamine tabs: 316 pills
  • Cocaine: 88 grams
  • Loaded 20-gauge shotgun

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing by video scheduled to take place on Thursday.
