Police have said there is no threat to public safety


Barrie police say Sunday’s investigation at a home on Edgehill Drive remains ongoing.

“The scene was released last night and police will provide details only when the isolated investigation permits,” police said in a tweet on Monday.

The home is at 412 Edgehill Drive west of Ferndale Drive.

Police have told Barrie 360 that their presence at the home on Sunday was related to a firearms investigation.

“Police wish to thank the residents of Edgehill Dr. for their patience and continued support,” the tweet added.

Police said in a tweet Sunday morning that they were at the residence, but added, “that there is no known risk to the public and it is an isolated incident.”

A police communications spokesperson told Barrie 360 this was part of a firearms investigation.

A neighbour told Barrie 360 that police were also at the home on Saturday.

Police said updates would be provided only as the investigation permits.
