Barrie police seize loaded gun, quantity of drugs

Police were alerted about a suspicious vehicle in the Collier Street parkade

Barrie police say they seized a loaded gun and a quantity of drugs when they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Tuesday in the Collier Street parkade downtown.

Police spoke to the male in the vehicle and determined the name he gave was false, and they also discovered a loaded gun and a large quantity of cash and drugs including:

  • A loaded handgun, with additional ammunition in the magazine
  • 121 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • 42 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 14 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • 6 grams of suspected Heroin

A 21-year-old Markham man has been charged with numerous firearm offences, as well as drug and other charges.

The man was held pending a bail hearing.
