Barrie Police Service officers responded to two incidents on Tuesday of suspected impaired drivers reported by members of the community.
The first incident happened around 2:30 p.m. after a vehicle was located across the bottom portion of a driveway on Farmingdale Crescent.
Police say the driver, who was not conscious when first spotted by a concerned citizen, exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
Once transported to the Barrie Police Headquarters, a breathalyzer technician determined that the 37-year-old Barrie man was nearly three times the legal limit.
He was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He was later released and is scheduled for Barrie court on May 17.
The second incident was reported to police at 10:18 p.m. after a single vehicle that was travelling on St. Vincent Street left the roadway and crashed into a ditch, just opposite Stonehart Lane.
Officers say the driver fled on foot but was located a short distance away.
The driver, a 36-year-old Barrie man, was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was found to be in excess of three times the legal limit.
He was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
He has a court appearance on May 3.
The drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for 7 days.
