Bones were discovered on Friday in the area of Berczy Street and Penetang Street, according to Barrie Police, which is near downtown.
"At this point, it is too early to determine if they are human remains," police said in a social media post.
Police say they will have a presence in the area as the investigation continues, and further details will be provided when possible.
