Barrie Police say road rage led to assault of truck driver by motorcyclist

Police say the incident happened after a near-collision in a parking lot

Barrie Police are asking the public for dashcam footage of a road rage incident that they say led to the assault of a pickup truck driver by a motorcyclist.

On June 7, around 7:00 p.m., police say the incident started at a parking lot at Grove Street East and Duckworth Street.

Peter Leon, Barrie Police spokesperson, told Barrie 360 that a collision almost happened when the driver of a black Dodge Ram didn't see the rider of a grey Harley Davidson coming through the lot.

Leon says both drivers continued down the road till they reached Grove and Sylvia Street, then the truck driver rolled down his window to apologize to the rider - at which point he was assaulted.

"Given that time of the night, there may have been somebody driving by that saw something," said Leon. "Or maybe remember something that may have been observed in the parking lot."
