Barrie police have updated a robbery investigation to say the alleged incident took place near a plaza in the area of Grove and Johnson Streets.

Police say they were called to a report of a robbery around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Officers were told that a 26-year-old individual was leaving a convenience store when an unknown male approached him on Grove Street East. The suspect flashed a knife and stole the victim's wallet. He was last seen on foot running down a nearby walkaway.

"The suspect is described as male black, 5’9”,  average build, 130-140lbs., early 20’s, glasses, wearing a face mask and a black winter coat. A second male who was seen with the suspect, but was not involved in the robbery, is described as wearing a camouflage track suit," according to a police media release.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.
