A Scarborough man is facing a long list of charges after police pulled over a car early Saturday that they say was travelling at a high rate of speed.
Just before 2 a.m., police say the motorist was seen leaving a licensed establishment on Dunlop Street West and heading towards southbound Highway 400 when officers stopped him. The driver showed signs of impairment and registered a "fail" on a roadside test and was subsequently arrested.
During a search of the vehicle, police say officers seized a large quantity of suspected oxycodone, cocaine and methamphetamine, and over $7,000 in cash.
The 55-year-old was charged with impaired driving and several drug-related offences.
His vehicle has been impounded for seven days, and his driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear in court later this month.
