Barrie police have laid drug and weapons charges against a 28-year-old man.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, officers from the Barrie Police Service High Harm Unit were in the downtown area when they observed a number of drug transactions taking place, according to a police news release.
Police say officers arrested four people and seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, fentanyl, Canadian currency, and weapons, which included crossbows, a flare gun, two knives, and two axes.
The suspect was charged with drug-related offences, failure to comply with a probation order, and three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
The three other arrested individuals were released unconditionally.
The accused was scheduled for a bail hearing on Thursday.
