Barrie police seize suspected cocaine during traffic stop

Two Barrie men face charges

Two men from Barrie were arrested Sunday night after police say they stopped a vehicle being driven by a known suspended driver on Bayfield Street.

"Police were able to determine that the driver was currently wanted on two outstanding warrants for failing to attend court. The passenger was also found to be breaching a release order from June last year," police said in a news release.

Police said they also located a large quantity of suspected cocaine and Canadian currency.

The 39-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger are both facing drug-related charges.

Both men were held in custody and are scheduled to appear on Monday by video for a bail hearing.
