Another scam, another victim.

Barrie police said on Friday that another senior was defrauded of a large sum of money after getting a phone call saying a family member was in trouble. A person then showed up at their house and collected the money.

“Don’t fall to these scams- protect your parents – Fraud is preventable,” police said in a tweet.

Police said they received six calls regarding scam artists in a two-hour period on Friday.

“If you have parents who are older, remind them not to answer the phone unless they recognize the caller or the phone number. Don’t fall prey to these scammers – hang up the phone if you have to!” police tweeted.
