Barrie police arrest woman after man stabbed at Anne Street apartment

Barrie police stabbing

Barrie police responded to 114 Anne Street North last night for an incident where a man had been injured.

Peter Leon, Barrie police communications coordinator, told Barrie 360 officers got to the scene at 8:49 and determined the man had been stabbed but left the scene on his own to seek medical treatment.

"A 23-year-old female was arrested and is charged with Assault with Weapon and Aggravated Assault," Leon said. "She is scheduled to have a bail hearing later today."

Leon says the victim was located and taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

"The incident was investigated by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene also, and assisted with evidence collection," Leon added.
