A woman is facing assault charges after police say a 63-year-old man was "seriously injured" at a Barrie hotel.
On Tuesday, around 8:40 a.m., Barrie police responded to a report of a suspected robbery at the hotel located on Hart Drive.
Officers say the victim, from Richmond Hill, had been injured after a disagreement with the woman.
According to police, the man was taken to a local hospital and was later sent to a Toronto area trauma centre where he is being treated for life-threatening head and facial injuries.
"Investigators were able to obtain video surveillance of the female suspect as she left the hotel and yesterday morning, shortly before 10:00 a.m., she was located and arrested by a member of the Barrie Police Service on a street south of Queen’s Park," officers wrote in a release.
A 33-year-old of no fixed address was transported to police headquarters and was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and assault.
She's remained in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing today.
