The Barrie Police Service is working with the City of Barrie to access to the City’s traffic management camera system as a resource for police investigations and active emergencies. This access will compliment the existing CCTV infrastructure operated by the Barrie Police.

A Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) was completed to ensure that any privacy concerns related to this change in access were acknowledged and addressed.

The Barrie Police Service will be hosting an open house for the community to attend and learn more about the many safety measures and procedures in place to protect privacy, as well as the limited circumstances when camera footage may be accessed.
