Barrie police eventually stood down after they responded to a call about a possible person trespassing at a property, and that there may have been a weapon seen.

The tactical unit responded to the area of Tiffin Street and Bradford Street around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers were able to determine there was no weapon or additional people on the property.

"When we receive a call, we have to respond based on the information provided, which may not always be accurate, until we can determine what is actually taking place," a Barrie police communications spokesperson said in an email to Barrie 360.
