Barrie police say they have arrested two 18-year-old males regarding an assault that sent a 58-year-old man to a trauma centre.
On Monday around 12:50 a.m., officers responded to 87 Dunlop Street East for a report of a fight involving the 58-year-old man and a group of three male suspects and a female.
Police say the victim sustained serious facial injuries.
Peter Leon, spokesperson for the Barrie Police Service, told Barrie 360 officers located the two suspects this morning just after 10 a.m. in mid-central Barrie.
"The two individuals have been taken into custody without incident. They are currently charged with aggravated assault and are awaiting a bail hearing," Leon said.
"We believe now that the female that was identified is a possible witness to the occurrence and we are still trying to confirm and locate her whereabouts,"
Leon says the victim is still in a Toronto trauma centre being treated for serious, life-threatening injuries.
