News release - Barrie Public Library (BPL)
The Barrie Public Library (BPL) is excited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our Holly location!
BPL’s newest location has certainly made a splash in its first year. There have been 24,957 checkouts and 4252 members who call Holly their home branch - 2899 of which are new members to BPL!
"We are thrilled with the response from the Holly community,” said Darcy Glidden, Manager of Community Libraries. “They have embraced the new location and our programming, not to mention our Summer Reading Club numbers which wildly surpassed expectations. Holly is a small but mighty location! We have filled a major gap in the community, and we look forward to our second year."
BPL will be hosting a first-anniversary party on Saturday, September 9th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Holly Library, located at 555 Essa Rd. in Barrie.
We are celebrating with many family fun activities including an outdoor Discovery Area that features a Big Block Build Challenge, Button Making Magic, Toss & Win Games, Mural Painting and much more. You can also join us in the library for face painting from 10:30 am-11:30 am, character visits, a VR Station and tons of other fun!
Holly has an amazing range of collections, services, spaces, and programs available. With over 30,000 titles for kids, teens and adults, there is a massive selection of brand-new books, movies, and magazines you can borrow. We also have laptops you can use while you're here, a printer and copier, workspaces, a bookable meeting room, and a kids area.
