News release - The Barrie Public Library
With a third location set to open in the Holly area this summer, the Barrie Public library is growing to meet the community’s needs and looking to fill several Page positions at Job Fairs this June.
Barrie Public Library Job Fair details:
Dates:
Wednesday, June 1, from 4 pm – 7 pm
Saturday, June 11, from 10 am – 1 pm
Location:
- Downtown Library, 60 Worsley Street
Interested individuals are invited to drop in to the Downtown Library during either of these times. Candidates are requested to bring an up-to-date resumé and contact information for three employment references. Interviews will be offered on-the-spot on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We are very excited to host our first-ever job fair,” said Jane Little, Manager of Human Resources. “It’s a wonderful way to reach more candidates and offering on-the-spot interviews really streamlines the whole process. We hope to see many people out and interested in joining our exciting organization.”
Pages are responsible for tasks including pulling holds, maintaining the shelving, filling displays, program set-up, and ensuring public spaces are tidy.
The Barrie Public Library will also be interviewing prospective volunteers for library positions and the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival in August. Volunteering with the library is a great opportunity to have fun and get community service hours while having a positive impact on your City.
“Volunteers are the backbone of the library,” added Emily Fleming, Coordinator of Volunteer Resources. “We offer a wide range of programs and services, and many of these wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers. It’s a fabulous team to be a part of, and we have many opportunities for those looking to get involved and give back.”
