Local resident makes sure Grinch was not allowed to steal Christmas from a Barrie woman

A Barrie woman who had a number of inflatables destroyed by a youth with a knife has discovered there are still good people.

Barrie police said a local resident dropped by their headquarters on Monday afternoon and donated five inflatable Christmas figures to replace the ones destroyed last Thursday evening on Queen Street.

Police said the inflatables belonging to Katie were "violently slashed."

At least one other home was targeted, said Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon.

After slashing the inflatables at the home of Katie, the youth left with a group but returned a second time and continued to slash away at the decorations with the knife.

Police have surveillance video from several homes.

So far, no arrest has been made.
