
Jeffrey Howland of Barrie has lucked upon new fortune, claiming a $1 million prize won in Lotto 6/49's Gold Ball Draw on April 30.
A construction worker by trade, Howland is a weekly lottery player purchased his ticket at the Circle K location on Marsellus Drive in Barrie.
He says he enjoys playing both Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max, regularly adding ENCORE to his tickets and using the OLG's Quick Pick feature to make his selections.

“I noticed the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was high, so I decided to pick up a ticket,” he recalled to OLG while collecting his winnings. “In the morning, before heading to work, I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone and couldn’t believe my eyes.”
Howland woke up his partner that morning after discovering the win, eager to share the news.
“At first, we thought I’d won $100,000 and were very happy. Later, we realized it was actually $1 million... It was surreal!”
He then told his daughter about win, saying “she was surprised and couldn’t believe it either.”
With the reward, he plans to buy a house and save for his retirement.
“Becoming a lottery winner has been an amazing and unbelievable experience.”
