A robbery report to Barrie police earlier this month has officers looking for three male suspects between the ages of 17 and 19.
Peter Leon, communications coordinator for the Barrie Police Service, says they responded to the incident at a plaza at Essa Road and Mapleton Avenue on Friday, May 10, just before 11:00 p.m.
"From the investigation that followed, responding officers have been able to confirm that the two male victims were approached by three occupants that emerged from a red, 4-door, Chevrolet Cruze," Leon wrote in a news release.
"One of the victims was initially struck by a conducted energy weapon and when he recovered, he ran away from the scene. The other male victim ran to a nearby restaurant as he believed one of the suspects was armed with a firearm."
Leon says the suspect who is believed to have had a firearm followed the victim into the restaurant where an "assaultive interaction occurred." According to Leon, the suspect demanded the victim’s satchel and phone.
"Fearing for his safety, the victim complied," he said.
