Barrie Sees Bump in Jobless Numbers

Provincial, Federal Unemployment Rates Unchanged Month-Over-Month

Barrie’s jobless rate took a bit of a hit last month.

According to numbers from Statistics Canada, the city saw an over half a percentage point bump up to a seasonally adjusted seven per cent. Barrie’s unemployment rate started at five per cent at the beginning of the year.

Meanwhile, both the provincial and federal rates haven’t budged month over month, remaining at 5.8 per cent.
