A 14-year-old boy from Barrie has been charged after a parent contacted Grey Bruce OPP on Saturday and told police their child had received a series of online threats to cause bodily harm.

During the course of the investigation, police were able to identify a youth who allegedly sent the threats, and he was arrested.

The teen was charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The boy was released and is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court at a later date.
