Six arrested, 45 charges laid, over $700,000 in stolen vehicles and property seized by Barrie police

A lengthy investigation focused on break-and-enters and thefts in Barrie and nearby Simcoe County communities has led to the arrests of six people and 45 charges laid.

Barrie police say the incidents happened between August and December 2023.

Search warrants were conducted and six people were charged with 45 offences including:

  • Break-and-Enter
  • Possession of Break-in Instruments
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Flight from Police
  • Operation while Prohibited.

Officers say they also seized stolen vehicles valued at $643,000:

  • U-HAUL trucks (2)
  • U-HAUL Cube Van
  • U-HAUL Sprinter Van
  • Tent Trailer
  • Dodge Ram Truck
  • Motorcycles (2)
  • Antique Dodge Challenger car and enclosed trailer
  • Minivan
  • 2 Ford F150 trucks

Barrie police added that $80,000 in stolen property from the break-and-enters were recovered.
