A 19 and 20-year-old from Barrie face a drug charge following the seizure of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop in the city.

Officers with the Barrie Police Service say the stop happened last night just before midnight on Patterson Road.

"As police approached the stopped motor vehicle, a baggy that contained suspected cocaine was observed and the three occupants that were in the car were jointly placed under arrest," police wrote in a release Wednesday morning.

The three were taken to Barrie Police Headquarters.

The 19-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Drug – Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

They were released and scheduled to appear in Barrie court in September.

Officers say the third occupant was released with no charges.
