A man is facing multiple charges following an "unsanctioned truck rally" in south Barrie over the weekend, city police say.
According to a news release from the Barrie Police Service, officers responded to the gathering at a plaza parking lot just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Police estimate that between 150 and 200 trucks were in the plaza's north end, along with more than 100 additional participants.
During the event, a 22-year-old Hamilton man was allegedly spotted dangerously driving his pickup truck. Police say that when officers attempted to stop him, he nearly struck two police cruisers before fleeing the area.
