Provincial police have charged a second suspect in connection with an assault in Wasaga Beach last winter.

OPP say on February 2, 2022, they were called to a River Road East residence and found a man with critical injuries. He was transported to a Toronto trauma centre and has since recovered.

Two men fled on foot and police have said they believe the incident was targeted.

On Wednesday, police arrested a 30-year-old Barrie man.

He has been charged with:

  • attempted murder
  • forcible confinement
  • break and enter
  • weapons dangerous

The suspect remains in custody following a bail hearing on Wednesday.

Last month, police said they had charged a Toronto man with attempted murder in connection with the assault.
