Barrie woman charged following disturbance call in Innisfil

A Barrie woman is facing charges after police say she assaulted security guards in Innisfil on Wednesday.

South Simcoe police say they responded to Friday Harbour for a "disturbance-related call" at around 8:00 p.m.

"Officers learned that a female suspect had assaulted two security guards," police said in a release.

"The suspect was identified and officers attempted to arrest her nearby. During the course of the arrest, two officers were assaulted. She was taken into custody and transported to the South Division. There were no injuries."

The 37-year-old was charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Assault - 2 counts
  • Assault peace officer - 2 counts
  • Being intoxicated in a public place
