Collision in Oro-Medonte: Barrie woman faces impaired charges

A Barrie woman is up on impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte.

On Monday just after 8:05 p.m., Orillia OPP responded to the incident at Line 14.

Police say the vehicle left the off-ramp and crashed into a wooded area.

The 34-year-old faces the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor (LLCA)
  • Drive motor vehicle - no licence (HTA)
  • Novice drive - BAC above zero (HTA)

Their driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle was impounded.

The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear in Orillia court on May 2.
