The City of Barrie is hosting two free information sessions to help residents learn about the planning and building requirements, and understand available funding options, for creating additional residential units (ARUs) in Barrie—both inside an existing home or as a new separate building. Common examples of additional residential units include a basement apartment or in-law suite, a coach house or secondary dwelling, or an addition to an existing home to make space for a new unit.
