Motorists rejoice!
Bayview Drive in Barrie, between Little Avenue and Big Bay Point Road, has re-opened to traffic.
Drivers can still expect lane restrictions, reduced lane widths and lane shifting as work continues on the eastbound lanes.
The construction project has included new sidewalks, a new storm sewer, crossing culverts, and paving of the westbound lane.
November is the timeline for regular two-way traffic.
In spring 2026, the final paving will be completed.
