A fire that destroyed a Johnston Street home in east Barrie is not considered suspicious, according to Fire Chief Kevin White.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at a home on Johnson Street at Georgian Drive around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
Flames also touched a neighbouring residence, but quick work by crews prevented further spread.
White told Barrie 360 the Ontario Fire Marshal did not attend.
The fire started in the garage, and the cause has been listed as undetermined.
Damages are in the range of $650,000 to $750,000.
One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and released.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation into a fire that gutted a home located on Johnson Street at Georgian Drive on Sunday afternoon.
On Monday, Fire Chief Kevin White told Barrie 360 that the early estimated damage total is about $650,000.
A GoFundMe account has been organized to assist the family that lost everything in the blaze.

Barrie Fire Chief Kevin White says the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) has been contacted after a blaze tore through a home and attached garage on Johnston Street at the intersection with Georgian Drive.
White told Barrie 360 that crews were alerted about the fire around 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
Flames did extend to a neighbouring home, but firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading further.
Everyone in the home where the fire started was able to get out of the residence, though one person was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
White said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
