An assault charge was laid by provincial police following an incident at a restaurant at Blue Mountain Resort.

On Sunday, September 15, Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP say a dispute between a patron and a staff member happened outside a restaurant due to an unpaid bill.

"Footage was captured of the dispute and shared on social media, leading to the identification of those involved," OPP wrote in a release. "The investigation revealed that the unpaid bill was settled in full shortly after the incident."

Police say the patron, a 38-year-old from Brampton, has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm

They are scheduled to appear in court in October.
