OPP say they were alerted about a body found along Highway 400 in Bradford by a motorist shortly after 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say the victim is female but has not been identified.
A post-mortem will be done to determine the cause of death.
Police add that the public can expect to see a police presence on Highway 400 northbound between the 5th Line and Highway 88.
Provincial police are asking members of the public who travelled this area between the evening of January 15, 2023, and the morning of January 18, 2023, who may have dashcam video, or who may have observed any parked vehicles or persons on the shoulder of the road, to contact the OPP.
Police do not believe there is any threat to public safety.
