Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a man's body was found in a wooded area on West Street South in Orillia around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say first responders were dispatched to the area after a report of an "unresponsive male." The 40-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem will be done to determine the cause of death.

Investigators do not believe there is a threat to public safety.
