Body of man recovered from waters of Lake Muskoka Tuesday morning

Man's death is not being considered suspicious

Police have recovered the body of a man from the water in Lake Muskoka and are investigating the circumstances leading to his death.

Bracebridge OPP was contacted shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning after a man was located, unresponsive, in the lake near his seasonal home. The OPP were joined by Muskoka Paramedics in responding to the Mortimers Point Road address and pulled the man from the water.

Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead.

While police continue to investigate, they say this man’s death is not considered suspicious. However, his identity has been withheld while officers contact his next of kin.
