South Simcoe Police have charged a driver after a 14-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle in Innisfil.

Police say it happened around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at a crosswalk in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Adullam Avenue.

The boy was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries and released.

The 79-year-old male driver was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian on the road.
