Bracebridge Breathalyser Kept Busy Over the Weekend

Novice Driver Among Those Charged

Some drunk driving charges laid in Bracebridge.

The OPP say an officer was out and about with the radar gun Saturday morning, when a high speed pick up truck is said to have passed by on Highway 11 at Stevenson Road 1. Officers stopped the offending vehicle and say the 27-year-old man behind the wheel was then given a roadside breath test. He will be in court early next month.

The next drunk driving charge came a few hours into Sunday, when police spied a vehicle on Manitoba St. at Taylor Rd., claiming it was swerving and driving partially in the wrong lane. When the vehicle came to a complete stop at a green light, officers stepped in.

It’s said not only was the driver, a 22-year-old Bracebridge man, under the influence, but he only had a G1 licence. He is facing a few charges and a court date.
