Driver plowed into vehicle at seatbelt check, open liquor and cannabis

Huntsville OPP has arrested and charged a driver after they say he rear-ended a vehicle at a seatbelt enforcement check.

According to police, on March 31, the driver struck the other vehicle on Highway 60 to Highway 11 southbound.

The 34-year-old Bracebridge man was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - BAC (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Drive vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Drive vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused was released and has a May 21 court date.
