Bracebridge OPP charged three people with impaired driving over the weekend, after responding to a vehicle in the ditch, a dispute, and a concerned call.
The first incident was on Friday at 9:00 p.m. when they received a call about a vehicle in the ditch on Muskoka Road 169 near Redwood Road.
"The caller stopped to assist and became concerned about the person's ability to drive," OPP said in a release.
A 26-year-old Gravenhurst man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition CC 92(2)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order CC 145(5)(a) X 2
He was held in custody and has a Bracebridge court appearance this week.
Then on Saturday night at 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a dispute between two people who were travelling on Peninsula Road in Gravenhurst.
They say after an investigation, a 60-year-old Huntsville man faces an impaired operation charge and is scheduled for court in February.
And finally, this morning at 2:00 a.m., a concerned citizen called OPP about a person's ability to drive after they left an address in Bracebridge.
Police say they found and stopped the vehicle on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst.
A 47-year-old Gravenhurst woman was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired - Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b)
She has a court date in March.
"Information from concerned and attentive members of the public is key in efforts to take impaired drivers off the road and create safer driving conditions for everyone," OPP added.
"The consequences for impaired driving in the province of Ontario, beyond the criminal charge, includes a 90-day driver's license suspension and a 7-day vehicle impound."
