Alleged impaired driver pursues motorist to police station

Police intercepted the motorist in the parking lot of the detachment

A 30-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly came in contact with another vehicle and then followed the motorist to the OPP detachment in Bracebridge.

Police say they received a 911 call from a driver around 11 Sunday morning to say they were being pursued by a person in another vehicle and that person had made contact with the caller’s car while driving on Taylor Road. The caller drove directly to the OPP detachment with the second vehicle continuing to follow in an aggressive manner.

Officers intercepted the second vehicle in the parking lot.

The driver, who is from Bracebridge, was charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded.
