Provincial police have charged a youth with careless driving after a collision between the accused's e-scooter and another vehicle on Friday morning.

Bracebridge OPP say officers were dispatched to Wellington Street at Santas Village Road in Bracebridge for a reported collision at 10 a.m.

The e-scooter operator, a 16-year-old from Bracebridge, was subsequently brought to hospital with minor injuries resulting from the collision. No other injuries were reported.

However, the crash also brought charges against the teen, who is facing a count of careless driving relating to the incident.

"It is everyone's responsibility to follow the rules of the road to ensure that everyone reaches their destination safely," Bracebridge OPP said in a release.
