Bradford driver facing long list of charges following Saturday night single-vehicle crash

Two hydro poles downed in crash

A Bradford man is facing a few impaired driving-related charges after a single-vehicle crash.

Witnesses told South Simcoe Police a northbound vehicle on Simcoe Road tried to pass another by driving on the right-hand side, at about 10:30 Saturday night. The suspect vehicle instead mounted the curb and struck two hydro poles. One of the poles was severed, causing live wires to spark on the ground. The driver allegedly fled on foot.

Police pulled over a pickup truck seen near the crash site and say the passenger was confirmed to have been the one driving the suspect vehicle. A 20-year-old man faces charges including impaired driving, dangerous driving, failure to stop following a crash, obstructing police and probation violation.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
